I've neglected my Zombie Babies for some time now. Parenting and other project commitments along with life in general hasn't allowed me much time to give to them, but I was recently made aware of some animation by Balint Rafael Kelen which you can find here:

which has inspired me to pick up the undead kids again. My intentions have always been to turn this in to a mini children's book a la Dr Suess meets Edward Gorey and a friend of mine had mentioned she'd like to compose some music to go along with it.
After seeing Balint's work I've gotta say, I would love to see it as an animated short.
And so, I'm going to start some rough story boarding for it tonight and we'll see where things go from there.
No matter what happens though, spread the word about this guys work though.

Inking and Color Tests
These are the inking and palette tests I did. Still not sure if I'm in to the colors I chose, but well see how it works once I do the backgrounds.

LATE AT NIGHT WHILST ZOMBIE PARENTS
ARE SNUGGLED IN THEIR BEDS,
THEIR ZOMBIE BABIES HAVE VISIONS
OF DANCING AND SINGING
IN THEIR HEADS.
THEY CRAWL FROM THEIR PRAMS
AND DROP FROM THEIR CRIBS,
THEY WRIGGLE OUT OF THEIR BEDS,
AND MEET WITHIN THE CEMETERY GROVE
TO DANCE AND WAKE THE DEAD.
THEY BRING HORNS AND DRUMS,
CYMBALS AND FLUTES,
ALL MANNER OF MUSICAL FARE.
THEY EVEN BRING SOME ROTTING BONES
TO WEAR MERRILY IN THEIR HAIR.
THEY SCREAM AT THE COFFINS,
AND CROON TO THE DEAD
GIVING THEIR TOMBS A GOOD RAPPING
THEY BEAT THEIR ZOMBIE BABY TUNE
ON THE SKULLS WITH A
TAPPITY
TAP
TAP
TAPPING
ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT THEY DANCE AND SING
WENDING THEIR WAY THROUGH THE GRAVES.
WHO KNOWS, ONE NIGHT YOU JUST MIGHT SEE
THE ZOMBIE BABY PARADE!
